A young girl was camping with her family and the budding photographer walked into some woods nearby to get an 'artistic' photo of the moon through some trees. After a bit, her family called for her, but she didn't answer. They looked, then called the police. The police searched extensively but she was never found.

It’s become second nature to say “bless you” to someone after a sneeze even if you’re not the religious type. This dates back to the old world when there was a  belief that a soul would become separated from the body during a sneeze. Saying 'Bless You’ was thought to prevent the devil from stealing their soul in that instant.


Many people die with their eyes open. Coins were used to keep the eyelids closed until rigor mortis set in and kept them closed permanently. The superstition was that the open eyes would allow the deceased to look around and choose someone to go with them to the great beyond.


Edinburgh Castle in Scotland stands on Castle Rock. It has had a long and gruesome history and it is said to be haunted by many ghosts, including a headless drummer boy. He first appeared acting as a warning that the castle was about to be stormed by Oliver Cromwell and the English army in 1650.


Standing on graves or walking past an open grave is bad luck. You should hold your breath when passing a cemetery or you might breathe in a soul. Don't point in a cemetery because an evil spirit could reach out and 'touch you'. If you count the cars in a funeral procession, it’s said that will be the number of years taken off your life.
