Astrology is the study of the
movements and relative positions of what are called celestial objects…this is
done as a means for divining information about human affairs and terrestrial
events…now some people take this quite seriously…even world leaders have been
known to consult astrologists before making a major decision…of course astrology
has been around for so very long…and it has its roots in calendrical systems that
are used to predict seasonal shifts as they are called…and to interpret
celestial cycles as signs of divine communications…astrology in the western world
is based on the construction of a horoscope for an exact moment…usually a
person's birth…it uses the tropical zodiac, with signs such as Scorpio, Aries,
etc…western astrology is founded on the movements and relative positions of
celestial bodies such as the Sun, Moon and planets, which are analyzed by their
movement through signs of the zodiac (twelve spatial divisions of the ecliptic)
and by their aspects which are based on geometric angles relative to one
another…they are also considered by their placement in houses (twelve spatial
divisions of the sky)…this is all quite interesting but why is it that two
people born in the world at the same exact time will have different lives and
circumstances that happen to them?...often common horoscopes (the ones you find
in a newspaper or online) are so general that someone seeking guidance will
find something relevant in them no matter what they say…the popular version is
usually reduced to sun sign astrology…that is only the zodiac sign of the Sun
at a person’s birth…and thus only represents about 1/12 of the total
astrological chart…how the stars and planets may affect us is quite
interesting.
