Vampirism

Vampirism is in a sense…the search for immortality…do you believe in the immortality of the soul?...of the body?...of course medical science refutes such a thing as being possible and everything we are taught in school counters this…but what do these ‘experts’ know?...just as it denies the very existence of vampirism…it does admit that certain physical aspects of it are real…there have been cases recorded in which victims, that is the person believing themselves to be a vampire have been driven by some type of abnormal power…and they actually believed that the blood of other people was truly necessary to keep them alive…as a result, they became psychopathic killers in order to obtain blood in their quest for immortality…this kind of belief may have thrown their metabolism out of whack…it may have induced unhealthy fixations and lustful appetites, those which turned into a fantasy becoming a reality…at least in some sense…the whole idea of vampirism is of course of a highly speculative nature…can one actually change themselves into a bat?...or feed upon the blood of the living, therefore producing eternal life?...of course Bram Stoker’s novel ‘Dracula’, published in 1897 is the quintessential book that has produced the legend of vampires, at least in western culture…and Transylvania has long been the ‘home’ for vampires…although for more than a thousand years, stories of demons or some kind of spirits have been passed down through various cultures.
