The one thing I’ve found
is that human relationships are unreliable...No matter how wonderful and
cherished they may be, they are as fragile as some thin ice over a cold lake...Impermanence
makes this so…how many people are living from 100 years ago?... How many
friends or loved ones you’ve known have moved away or died?... Once, there may
have been a person who you could not bear to be without…every second with them
was wonderful…now, maybe you don’t wish to be around them anymore… maybe you can’t
even stand the thought of them now…you’d rather spend time with your horse…and
you don’t get along with him all that well…or even if you have maintained a
wonderful relationship, some day it’s gonna be over…what will be left?...someone
mourning the loss of their ‘soul mate’…everything that comes together falls
apart…that’s just the way it is…that which lives must die…that is what the Dao
teaches us...impermanence is the only constant.
