Gravediggers

Each day, people shovel themselves into a grave a little further. Most of the time it is over something that is trivial, something that is seemingly important but really has little or no bearing. It is quite odd how people create so much stress upon themselves. Pressure to do this, pressure to do that, accomplish this, avoid that. To relieve this self-imposed stress, they seek happiness, or what they believe will bring them happiness. People seek happiness in the strangest of things and people. The true bliss of the Tao is all around them but it goes ignored. People follow the glitter. They seek fame, accolades, fortune. None of these things brings true lasting happiness. So on it goes, the endless pursuit of happiness and with each passing moment a little more dirt gets shoveled; first from the ground and then onto the coffin eventually. People digging their own grave.
