A ‘channeler’ or more
commonly referred to as a medium, is one who has the ability to communicate
with the spirits…a.k.a. those who have gone to the great beyond…channeling
occurs when a human enters into an 'altered state of consciousness' (we have
discussed that before) which allows that person to become a conduit or
'channel' for the spirit of another…to contact a deceased individual and then
the individual doing the channeling can then be a source of middle ground
between the living and the dead...basically in essence, this is what a medium
does…to communicate with the dead on behalf of the living...there are several
different ways a medium can work…the best-known forms are when a spirit
purportedly takes control of a medium's voice and uses it to relay a message to
the living…or sometimes the medium will ‘hear’ the message and relays it to
others…other forms may involve the materialization of the spirit or the
presence of a voice…this often takes place in what we call a séance…one thing
to remember…not all psychics are mediums, however all mediums are psychics…many
mediums have been exposed as frauds and charlatans…they gained access to a
clients’ personal information to make the client believe the medium had powers…but
some mediums are quite real...those mediums have passed up offers by skeptics
to demonstrate their powers for acclaim and money, instead quietly working in
the shadows offering their services to individuals.
