Anna Anderson was best
known as being one of a few supposed impostors who claimed to be the Grand Duchess
Anastasia of Russia…Anastasia, who was the youngest daughter of the last Tsar
and Tsarina of Russia…that would be Nicholas II and Alexandra…she was killed
along with her parents and siblings on July 17, 1918 by communist
revolutionaries in Yekaterinburg, Russia…the bodies were ‘missing’ and the
location of her body was unknown until found in 2007…Anderson claimed that she
was Anastasia for many years but most did not believe her or the rest of those
who said they were…but Anna was the most persistent of them and became quite
well known…after she died in February 1984, DNA tests were run…the official
ruling was that she was not the Grand Duchess…although rumours persist to this
day that some anonymous scientists found the final finding to be… ‘inconclusive’.
