Unassisted sailing
refers to a voyage, usually single handed, with no port stops along the way for
refitting or resupplying and no physical assistance from external sources. This
is a risky endeavor even for the most knowledgeable of sailors. It’s just you and
mother ocean. It’s beautiful at times and hell at times. It’s waking up to the
green sea stretching for an eternity to somewhere; somewhere you can’t see or
sea. It’s the taste of salt on your lips and pepper in your throat. It’s the
creaking and moaning of the craft and not knowing what’s going to happen next.
All of life is being tossed about by the waves. The sun shines early in the
morning and the glare off the water bangs your head.
