In days of old all
things were whole
All the sky was clear
All the earth was stable
All the mountains were firm
All the riverbeds were
full
All of nature was
fertile
But, losing clarity, the
sky became cloudy
Losing stability, the
earth shook
Losing strength, the
mountains sank into the sea
Losing water, the
riverbeds ran dry and cracked
Losing fertility, nature
disappeared
Do not forget that
oneness is the essence of harmony
To be at peace is to be
simple
You must go beyond the
common
But not to an extreme
Do not be a grain of
sand nor a rare piece of jade
When there is balance,
there is harmony
Where this is, is the Dao
