The Randomness of Randomness

Throw stones into a river one summer afternoon. Random, purely at random. The randomness of life and yes of death. It is the randomness of so much that scares; having no control over that which we seek to control. Fate is often an unkind mistress. But if there is such randomness, can there still be fate? I will let the intelligentsia out there debate that. If we expect the unexpected, then it is no longer unexpected is it? The ancients tell us to go with the ebb and flow of things. Remember, experience costs us more than we think we should have to pay, but we can't seem to find anyplace to get it for any less.
