Fighting Battles

In the year 1918 just as World War I was ending up with millions killed, an even greater killer was in force. Over 30 million people died from influenza worldwide. It is thought by some that it originated in the Midwest of the United States and was carried over to Europe and other points east by soldiers going off to fight in the trenches. Sickness is one thing we cannot avoid no matter the size of our bankroll or influence; that and death, aging, and change cannot be stopped by the mightiest minds or hands. Knowing this, the sage does not fight battles that cannot be won nor does he spend countless hours fretting about them.
