Vines

People are often like vines, clinging to whatever they can. They cling to other people, material goods, and life itself. When these attachments are severed, they fall to the ground. You have little control over yourself so clinging to someone else whose mind may prove fickle is not wise. Material items always have a way of de-materializing. Life comes to an end. There is a day awaiting where we will not see the sun rise over the ocean. Those who cling will be in for a shock. Those who have learned the art of detachment can be content with other people, material items, and life without being clingy and expecting it to never end.
