Avoid Contention

We should always seek to not contend, but in those situations where contention is unavoidable, remember it is not so important as to whether we are the victor or the vanquished, but what we do with either one afterwards. The true value lies in what we do with either victory or defeat. We can let it rule our emotions, or we can build upon it like the hawk that builds his nest in a tree. It is difficult in this world to avoid contention, but it should always be our aim.
