Impressionism

Impressionism is a style of painting developed in the last part of the 19th century, characterized chiefly by short brush strokes of bright colors in immediate juxtaposition to represent the effect of light on objects. It is a manner of painting in which the forms, colors, or tones of an object are lightly and rapidly indicated.
Although impressionism is a wonderful type of painting, it is not so good for those who wish to find inner harmony. You cannot be yourself if you are doing an impression of someone else. Too many people seek to ape what they see. They are easily impressed like a soft pillow. They reflect the beliefs and ways of modern culture and society. This is quite unfortunate for modern society concerns itself little with being in harmony with the Tao. To find oneness with the Tao, one must stop doing impressions and find their true self.
