Koan Study: Wasted Time

An older student confided in Master Li. "Master, I am pleased to seek oneness with the Tao, but I mourn all the years I have wasted doing pointless things" Master Li said, "There is nothing to mourn. Any awakening for a year, month, day, or a brief moment is to be celebrated. It often takes a long time and much illusion to create an awakening. Appreciate the moment in front of you, do not look back mournfully at that which cannot be changed."
