late afternoon
lounging in lodge
stone fireplace
floor to ceiling windows
cup of hot cocoa
olympic fever
bought skis
gloves boots poles
after all that
preferred tubing
more fun
one day moved
forgot skis in rafters
down in basement
not much use anyway
where I was going
water skiing
pass
had a friend
broke his neck
died water skiing
died doing what he loved
so they say
like that makes
his death
more palatable
died all the same
