The Moon and Wolves

People throughout time have worshipped the moon and some have believed it to be even more powerful than the sun...the believed sacredness of the moon has been prevalent in many cultures throughout time and has been associated with the basic rhythms of life and the universe...the tides go in and out and in and out and in and out because of the pull of the moon...moon worship has given rise to a rich symbolism and mythology...the cyclical process, waxing and waning...the disappearance and reemergence of the moon is the basis of the widespread belief of the moon to be associated with the land of the dead...that is the place to which souls of the departed ascend to after their deaths, and then the power of rebirth...at least that’s what experts like to think about people who believe that...but the real reasons may be lost to history...dust in the wind, water under the bridge...never to return again on its journey to Mother Ocean...I like to worship the moon myself with some Jack Daniels sitting out on my porch--and there are times when I wish I was millions of miles away like it is...even as far as it is, people have infringed on it, or supposedly at least...a lot of people think wolves howl at the moon but the belief that wolves howl at the moon is wrong...wolves are nocturnal for the most part and just come out to howl for the hell of it...full moon, half moon, quarter moon...it don’t matter...they strike their familiar pose—because they raise their heads for better acoustics...there’s a lot of different kind of wolves

--Gray Wolf, Red Wolf, Arctic Wolf, Eastern Wolf, Ethiopian Wolf, Indian Wolf, Himalayan Wolf...Arctic Wolf lives in the coldest regions of the arctic...I could see the Himalayan Wolf living at the rooftop of the world...Bhutan, Nepal...maybe lighting some incense and meditating in a cave before he goes out on the prowl for food...the Eastern Wolf is found in the Great Lakes Region and southeastern Canada...he’s often found wearing an old Canadiens hockey jersey and drinking a can of Molson’s...and there are those wolves that run the lands of Europe...ancient folklore says that a bite from one of these wolves can turn you into a werewolf...normal by day, but turning into a homicidal maniac at night when the moon is bright...you know the phrase…

"Even a man who is pure in heart and says his prayers by night- may become a wolf when the Wolfbane blooms and the Autumn moon is bright."

even when you can’t see the moon, it’s there--before telescopes were invented, the moon was seen as the alpha dog over the sun because it was bigger in the sky to the naked eye and to the average guy...proving once and for all that size matters.
