A smooth sea never made
a skilled sailor so goes an old English proverb. Any fool can sail easily on a
sea of glass with light winds, but there are many of those same ‘sailors’ who would
panic or abandon ship at the first sight of a storm approaching. They mistake a
spring shower for the waves of Cape Horn. Get up on the bridge and keep a
steady hand at the wheel. Adjust course if necessary and stay out of the
swells. Don’t give up the ship too easily. The port will soon be in sight.

Wander
Just because you wander
about does not mean you are lost. Sometimes you make it a point not to be going
anywhere. You just wander and it doesn’t matter where you end up. Wandering
about can indicate you have found much and not wasted time on the conventional
treadmill of so many lives. Wandering can indicate a healthy sense of curiosity,
a longing to stay away from the ordinary in search of the extraordinary; an
extraordinary that few ever find, a treasure that only a few explorers ever
discover and one that can make you richer than you ever dreamed.

Waiting For Your Ship To Come In
Waiting for you ship to
come in means depending on the captain of your vessel finding the right harbor
and that isn’t always a given. There are a lot of bad captains out there. Why
wait for your ship when you can be doing the sailing and navigating yourself?
Why wait for someone else to provide you with what you’re looking for? Ships
sink, capsize in rough weather, and you never know when there will be a
dockworkers strike. No one ever crossed the ocean just standing on the shore.
There is a lot more to getting something done then just wishing that it did.
