There
is always some sadness in discovering you are older. It sneaks up on you. You
become invisible to many. You look in the mirror and realize you look more like
your dad or mom than you do you; at least in your mind. Where did that you go? But
perhaps if you are lucky and you truly have not only grown older but wiser, you
realize your station now in life and are content with it. There is no point in
wishing to go back because the train doesn’t run there anymore. Renewal, decay
and once more. Those are the lessons of the Dao.
