Man is so
desperate to know his future, he invents all kinds of methods to foretell it,
or at least try to. We want to know what’s coming, what we can expect. We hate
the unexpected and it stands to reason that we should expect the unexpected;
but if we expect the unexpected, then it really isn’t unexpected. Some attempt
it by reading tea leaves and make no mistake, there are very definite rules to
the practice. My thought is you analyze the tea leaves, and I will enjoy the
tea. It always amazes me that some people who follow the reality of the Dao
closely are so infatuated with the practice of I Ching, yet another fortune
telling practice. Does the future scare man so much that he tries to find
comfort in such gimmicks?
