I was thinking the other
day that we may destroy ourselves someday, just blow ourselves into smithereens
somehow until there is no human being walking the earth, and the earth will be
better for it. Is it inevitable? Maybe. Maybe not. One likes to think that
wisdom will prevail, but who can say for sure if there is enough wisdom to
prevent such a thing? One thing is for certain, the Dao will go on whether we
do or not, or whether someone is still around to remember such a fact. The Dao
cannot be destroyed no matter how stupid we are.
