A great writer was
once asked how to become a great writer. He answered that to become good at
your craft, you must practice, practice, and practice some more. To be a great
writer, you must write. This is true about many things. Even those who seek to
walk with the Dao must practice constantly. Ben Hogan said about his golf game
that if he didn’t practice for two days, people would know it. If he didn’t
practice for one day, he would know it. Not practicing the ways of the Dao for
one day takes us away from it.
