To cross a thousand miles of desert in the middle of the day with
an oppressive sun beating down; that is how life feels at times; an endless
slog that promises no rewards. There is an old saying, “The reward for hard
work is more hard work!” Life can be hard work. However if we remember the
teachings of Dao, we can alleviate some of the work by living wisely; living
within the guidance of the ancients who knew all too well the definition of
hard work.
