There is a saying that says that the rain follows after the forest. This means that if we destroy the forest, the rains will cease to fall, and the land will become a barren desert. Perhaps this is another way of telling us remain on the path and make wise decisions. It is those very decisions we make that will influence what comes next into our lives. Every moment of anger, greed, or another negative emotion takes us further away from being one with the Dao.
