 A student knocked on the hut of the Master and asked to come inside. Master Li said “I am eating my dinner! What do you want?” in a loud voice. The student stepped into the hut and saw Master Li feasting on a large duck. The student forgot his original question and then told Master Li that he was surprised to see Master Li eating a duck and that Buddha almost never ate meat and never showed anger towards anyone or anything. Master Li said, “Yes, that Buddha was quite a pious fellow. Now get out!” |
