The Long Slumber

Sleep is a wonderful thing. It refreshes us, keeps us healthy. There is something special about a lazy afternoon nap. For us to realize the Tao however, there must be an awakening. We must wake from the slumber that we walk around in. Buddha was once asked what he was; his answer was “I am awake”. When we are awake, we see the world for what it really is. The colors are brighter, the focus sharper. We see all the threads that connect everything and everybody together. We are one with the universe because we are no longer only thinking about ourselves. It is vital that we wake from the slumber that plagues modern man.
