Meditation is not goal oriented. In fact, having a goal can be the biggest stumbling block one can face. Meditation is a let it happen activity, not a make it happen activity. Trying too hard to force an outcome can cause one not to have the outcome one wishes. The patient are rewarded. An attempt to force the mind into peace will only bring unrest. The mind must be like a riverbed, allowed to settle on its own accord in order to bring clarity.
