Footprints

A few days ago, I read that someone named Miss Weston USA had resigned her post under pressure from the pageant holders. I have no idea what Weston is or who this woman was but it provides a valuable lesson. This was apparently some type of beauty contest. The pageant makers had discovered she had posed for some photographs questionable in taste to them. This has also happened to Miss America in the past. Beauty contests are trivial and antiquated and reward superficial beauty, but this can teach us that our paths must be walked with great care. We must be cautious in each step we take. Some like footprints on the beach are quickly washed away and vanish, no longer to be seen by anyone. Other steps are more permanent and cannot be washed away, only perhaps covered up as leaves cover the concrete sidewalk upon which you tread.
