Each waking moment is a stone we walk upon on our journey. Each step we take is built on what steps we have taken before. That is why it is so important to plot and take our steps carefully. With every step, our destiny is altered. With each step, we are the snowflake that precedes the avalanche, the stirring of air that gives rise to the butterfly’s wings. Without water, there can be no tide. Without sun, there can be no daylight. One must precede the other. We cannot live in the past, for doing so will make us blind to the present. However, if we ignore the past, we may compromise the future for the sunsets of our destiny are laid out by the sunrises of our past.
