Boot Hill

We’ve probably all heard the term ‘boot hill’ a few times but did you know where it came from?...Boot Hill is the name for any number of cemeteries, usually overrun with weeds and in a dilapidated condition…most of them containing the graves of forgotten men…they were found chiefly in the old west…during the late 19th century, it was a common name for the burial grounds of gunfighters who were too slow or were caught up with by the law…most of these ‘residents’ died with their boots on…thus the name ‘boot hill’ which was another term meaning they most likely died a violent death either by gunfire or hangin’.
